Holly Clark, Founder of Love2sing UK Limited, formed the company in 2010.
Holly has 22 years experience teaching as a specialist in singing and music. She comes from a classically trained background, and is a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she trained on the Opera course, gaining a BMus Hons in Music. She teaches in both Primary and Secondary schools, adult groups, choirs, and also children and adults who have special educational needs.
Holly held the post of Vocal Leader for THAMES (Tower Hamlets Arts and Music Education Service) where her role included visiting and running children’s and staff singing training and workshops across the 69 primary schools in the borough. She also works as a consultant and vocal coach with current UK artists and acts, helping to develop their vocal technique and performance abilities. She is passionate about music and the benefits it can have to all, and enjoys nothing more than being a part of them making music together! Her work has included working on large projects such as Young Voices, the Primary Proms, the V&A festival, and bringing the primary school children in London schools together at iconic venue TROXY for massed concerts.
The 20 tutors that work for and alongside Holly on the Love2singUK team are highly trained and skilled musicians and actors, all with different specialist areas whether it is composition and song writing, drumming and percussion, drama, dancing, EYFS specialism, or music theatre. All tutors deliver high quality work and always get the best from all participants, while making it a fun experience to remember!
Love2singUK has developed strong links with schools across the country and believes that music has the power to transcend different cultures and beliefs, can transform lives and provides children with life chances. It brings schools and communities together and helps keep our young people on the right path with focus and ambition. Equally as important for adults, the Love2singVoices choirs provide opportunities for adults to enjoy get back into singing, further their musical experiences, develop their voices and build their confidence amongst a like minded, music-loving community.
Research has proven that singing helps creativity, language & brain development as well as personal and social development. Singing releases endorphins to the brain, allowing one to be more open to new ideas as well as feeling good about themselves, helping their learning in other areas of the curriculum. This in time allows them to develop a sense of who they are, and in many cases finding their voice leads to a life-long love of singing.
It is also an essential tool to foster the development of children with special needs. Music adds to our quality of life, strengthens our identity and self-esteem and connects us to one another. It develops essential life skills such as team-work, communication and respect for others. It encourages critical thinking and has a direct and positive effect on learning skills. Music can cultivate an appreciation of other cultures, embracing diversity and community awareness. It is creative, it allows self-expression, and is vital for all.
